About La Tashia Kiel
EDUCATION
La Tashia Kiel completed her Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctor of Nursing Practice degrees at The University of Texas at Austin. She practiced as an ER nurse for 15 years and spent many years educating the next generation of nurses as a Clinical Assistant Professor in Nursing at her alma mater. She also attended The University of Texas at Arlington for her post-Master’s. She is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner with emerging experience as an advanced clinical care provider, currently working as a Cardiology Nurse Practitioner at Modern Heart and Vascular.
APPROACH TO MEDICINE
La Tashia believes in the Golden Rule to “Treat others like you would want to be treated,” but, she takes it a step further and does her best to treat others like THEY want to be treated. She is passionately committed to the pursuit of knowledge and he art of using that knowledge to help steer her patients in making the best possible decisions regarding their care. Her goal is to always deliver excellent patient care that incrementally improves population health. She actively empowers her patients through personal advocacy, awareness, education, preventative care, and by creating a culture of health. She accomplishes her goals through policy improvement, systems management, evidenced-based practice, and meaningful use in technology.
